The Work Sphere:
High Work Performance is Inter-Dependent with Life Balance
Written by FULL•LIFE® Coach Miriam Levy-Mixon

What are the most important aspects of a successful and fulfilling work life? Work tends to play a very large role in our identity as an adult. In coaching at FULL•LIFE® CENTERS, an individual is introduced to the SPHERES OF LIFE® concept and is reminded that it is important to achieve life balance. An individual may begin his/her focus in the Work Sphere and begin to realize that it is vital to allow time for rejuvenation so that life can be as productive and fulfilling as possible. We are easily lulled into dullness and stagnation if we remain completely focused in one Sphere of our life and neglect our development in others. For example, the stay at home mom who never spends time away from her children robs them of the ability to see her as a whole person. She does not take time to decompress from stress and thus loses her patience more easily with her children and is unhappy with herself as a person. When the corporate executive focuses only on work, he/she misses school plays, family reunions and companionship with his/her partner.

Achieving an optimal level of satisfaction in one's life can be a lifelong pursuit, thus realizing that life can be enjoyed on a daily basis if we learn to live with some form of balance. FULL•LIFE® CENTERS offers personal growth tools through their SPHERES OF LIFE® technologies which lead to a fulfilling life when dealing with issues of Work, Family, Friends, or Money along with many other aspects of a person's life. The eleven Spheres help clients at FULL•LIFE® achieve a better workplace by emphasizing life outside of work. As Dr. Siegler points out, this “Taoist opposite” is one of the cornerstones of the SPHERES OF LIFE® Methods.
